One form, one desk, two working days.
Every message that comes through this form is reviewed by Yasmin al-Naggar (managing editor) or Mona Selim (administrator) within two working days. Reader questions about specific vessels, seasons or routes are routed to the appropriate editor; subscription queries are handled by Mona directly. Telephone hours are Tuesday 10:00–13:00 and Friday 14:00–17:00 Cairo time. Outside those hours leave a voicemail and we will call back during the next phone session.
Send a message.
Use the topic dropdown to help the desk route your message. If your question fits more than one category, choose the most specific. Messages on river-travel questions usually receive a single substantive reply; subscription queries usually involve one round of clarification before the action is taken.
By post — the printed annual digest.
For readers who prefer paper, the Damietta desk produces a printed annual digest every January — three hundred pages, indexed, containing the year's twelve consolidated files and the captain interviews. The digest costs €28 to non-subscribers and €15 to Logbook and Captain subscribers, plus postage in three bands: €4 within Egypt and the Mediterranean, €9 to the rest of Europe and North Africa, €14 elsewhere. Order by writing to the desk with your postal address; we send a payment confirmation, the digest is dispatched on the first Tuesday of February each year, and the print run is fixed at four hundred copies. Once the run is out, it is out; the digital archive remains the canonical reference.
If you reached us by mistake.
If you arrived expecting a cruise booking page, a tour-operator office or a travel agency, you are at the wrong door. Pelagia is an editorial journal. We do not book cabins, do not sell tour packages, and cannot take an enquiry intended for an operator. The cruise lines our reviews describe are listed by name in the public briefings; you can find their booking channels through any travel agent or directly via their own websites. We will not pass an enquiry to an operator on your behalf — that is not what the desk does.
